OK Art Basel is MOFO here!

I think every miamian can appreciate Art Basel. As pretentious and obnoxious the invasion of foreign peeps may seem there is still always the opportunity of "great art" which (like a muthafuckin mastercard ad) is "priceless". I am especially excited this year because beautiful things are happening very close to my home (D District) which include Scope, Art Asia, ARt Miami, and much more within walking distance. I will be participating in Launche Art (an awesome new fair which works only with locals) with my vintage clothing store "Lady of Fatima" December 4th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 121 NE 36th Street, D District baby! My friend "ZUN" AKA Avraham Zuniga, a mecca in the SO FLO graff world will be joining my booth slangin shirts like no tomorrow. In other terms "we bees hustlin". So round up your posse and drop by... we love to see smiling 305ers! and if you don't buy nothing we still love ya! And if we don't the pink snails still will!!! Make sure you check them out during Basel, the 8-foot slugs with shells will slither over to Collins Park in front of the Bass Museum, where they'll hang out until January 3

(Stay tuned for more Art Basal info from the Queen B, Me!!! Next week)
For now please come visit me and Avraham Zuniga at Launche Art from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 121 NE 36th Street.

SQUARESVILLE TAMPA! Love this place!

If your ever around the Tampa Bay area, make sure you stop off at Squaresville, located at 508 S Howard Ave. It has the most amazingly retro finds as well as new retro-style items! I got the best vintage print Ozzy Osbourne tee, circa 1980 as well as some vintage magnets with photos of a young Mick Jagger, Ike and Tina, mugshots of Betty Page, Johnny Cash, Jane Fonda and more. They also have cute beer cozies with vintage/retro prints too! The shop owner was this awesome chick who always remembers me when I come in (like every few months), she's super friendly and knows her vintage! Anywho LOVE this place, I think everytime I go I spend $100 so bring an allowance if your on a tight budget! I seriously could go broke! It's also one of the few clothing shops you can bring your boyfriend or old man to because there is tons of nifty nic nacs to keep him occupied! ABOVE I posted some pics of magnets I bought from this lovely shop!

WELCOME TO MAGIC CITY VINTAGE!!!

As the first posting of Magic City Vintage I would like to introduce myself! I am Sarah Ballard, an artist, vintage guru and etsy shop owner! I love visiting all the local vintage thrifts and scooping up original items I can wear to art shows or just around town. Once I'm done with the nifty threads I put them up at my shop which you can check out at www.ladyoffatima.etsy.com and make them available for purchase AROUND THE GLOBE!!! I have an eclectic taste in music everything from Slayer to Janis to The Roots. I heart fashion, photography, my kitty COCO and pup IGGY. AND I am getting married in March to the most amazing Chef so I will make sure to post MANY wedding dresses to give any brides-to-be some heads up on sweet vintage wedding gowns! I also love the HAND MADE threads and I will make sure to represent anyone who creates KICK ASS clothing, as well as, post any local shops in Florida I find! Think of this as thrifting 101 in Florida!

Well nice to meet ya and hope you stop by whenever you get the shopping itch!!!
